Data Source: Core Financials balance sheet (CF0001), annual filings only (SNL_DataSource_Period = year + 'Y').

Total Invested Assets: Sum of bonds, mortgages, stocks, real estate, other investments, contract loans, and cash/short-term investments.

Size Classification: Mega (>$50B), Large ($10-50B), Medium ($1-10B), Small (<$1B) based on total invested assets.

Caveats: Entity filter: NAIC_Company_Code IS NOT NULL excludes S&P aggregates. PE classification uses a curated list of entity keys mapped to known PE sponsors.
